The Boxettes are auditioning!

So after all the hype with the video has been put in motion and Christmas and New year is out the way, the Boxettes can finally focus on holding the auditions for the new 5th Boxette. If you haven't read my previous post, basically Harriet is leaving (the blonde Boxette) and we need to find the perfect person to become the 5th Boxette.
If you or anyone you know is an awesome vocalist up for joining an awesome vocal group that are gonna blow up (we are!) pretty damn soon, please think about auditioning. We need someone with experience as a solo singer and singing in a group, they need to have an excellent level of musical understanding, and they need to be able to fully commit themselves to the band. Please send a photo, a short blurb about your musical background and what experience you have, and an mp3 or video of you singing.
If you don't live in London you will need to consider re-locating, and we have a negotiable age guideline of 21 - 26.

Boxettes videooo!

Finally released the first ever Boxettes video and studio recording (I say released... I mean put on vimeo!) Very very happy with it though! I saw it for the first time on Christmas Eve - I went to school with the directors and one of them lives right next to the pub that we go to every Christmas (I say lives... his mum lives there!). Anyway we sat and watched it in the living room and he was just there on the floor looking so nervous - I was a bit worried cos I'm crap at hiding my feelings and I know that if I didn't like it he would know straight away! Luckily, the video was so awesome that it brought a little tear to my eye... this really was a mile stone for the band and I'm so happy that it was done so well and with so much love from everyone involved! The childhood connection is really nice too. It means that we all feel proud of each other as well as impressed!
Luckily the rest of the girls were equally as excited about the video as me... I think we must have all watched it about a thousand times now!
So on the day we put it up... 5th Jan or something... support went through the roof! we posted it on facebook and our mailing-list at around 5pm, and by 5pm the next day we had 25,000 views! It was insane, whenever I logged into facebook (which was every 5 mins to check to progress haha!) my mini-feed was just a list of different people who had posted our video!
How lucky we are to have fallen into creating something that people like, and that everyone is so supportive of willing to push us. I think that the uniqueness of our concept is gonna allow us to bring a quirky edge into commercial music. well we'll see anyway.
without further a do, I give you "FREE". Track downloadable for free at www.theboxettes.co.uk (for a limited time only)
